1910s

October 1919 Genzo Oda establishes Mitsuboshi Shokai to manufacture mainly cotton belts at the present Kobe Plant site.
 

1920s

March 1920 Cotton belts are replaced with rubber belts.
 

1930s

October 1932 The business is incorporated as Mitsuboshi Shokai Co., Ltd.
June 1935 The company is renamed Mitsuboshi Chotai Co., Ltd.
March 1936 Manufacture of conveyor belts begins.
June 1937 Tokyo Branch opens.
 

1940s

October 1940 Manufacture of V-belt begins.
January 1947 Manufacture of bicycle tires and tubes begins.
November 1947 Shikoku Plant begins manufacturing flat belts.
 

1950s

June 1955 Nagoya Branch opens.
May 1957 Manufacture of timing belts begins.
July 1958 Listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange.
 

1960s

May 1961 The company is renamed Mitsuboshi Belting Ltd.
June 1961 Listed on the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
January 1962 Nagoya Plant is built.
May 1962 Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
July 1963 Manufacture of waterproofing sheet begins.
April 1965 Manufacture of interior automotive components begins.
 

1970s

July 1973 Manufacture of exterior automotive components begins.
November 1973 MBL (USA) Corp. is established in Illinois, USA.
February 1977 MBL (Europe) B.V. is established in Netherlands.
July 1977 Mitsuboshi Belting (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is established in Singapore.
September 1977 Kanagawa Plant is established through the transfer of manufacturing facilities for automotive components from Mitsuboshi Belting Kanagawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
 

1980s

April 1980 Manufacture of engineering structural foams begins.
October 1982 Manufacture of ChemiFlex products from polyurethane materials begins.
July 1984 Mitsuboshi Belting Philippines Corp. is established.
September 1986 Shiga Plant completed; cord treatment for power transmission belt begins.
December 1987 Mitsuboshi Belting (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is established.
February 1988 MBL Antriebstechnik Deutschland GmbH is established.
March 1988 Production plant opens for MBL (USA) Corp.
September 1988 Mitsuboshi Belting Indonesia is established.
 

1990s

May 1990 MBL International (Asia) Pte. Ltd. is established in Singapore.
October 1992 Head Office is moved to Harborland Center Building, Kobe.
January 1995 The Great Hanshin Earthquake damages part of the Head Office and the Kobe Plant, with losses amounting to approx. 300,000,000 yen.
November 1996 P.T. Seiwa Indonesia is established as a subsidiary of Mitsuboshi Belting (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
January 1998 Mitsuboshi Belting International Systems Ltd. is established as a recruitment agent.
March 1998 Tianjin Mitsuboshi Belting Co., Ltd. is established in China.
February 1999 Mitsuboshi Belting Giken Co., Ltd. is established at Ayabe city, Kyoto for the development of new production systems.
October 1999 The 80th anniversary ceremony of the company's foundation is held.
 

2000s

January 2000 Head offices are placed in Kobe and Tokyo.
April 2000 Techno Research Center is established adjacent to the Kobe head office.
November 2000 Head Office is moved to Nagata Ward, Kobe.
August 2001 MOI Tech Europe Sp. zo.o is established in Poland.
November 2001 Stars Technologies Industrial Ltd. is established in Thailand.
June 2002 MBL Shanghai International Trading Co., Ltd. is established in China.
January 2003 Domestic sales agencies are consolidated into Mitsuboshi Belting Sales Co., Ltd.
October 2003 Operating officer system is introduced.
April 2004 Suzhou Mitsuboshi Belting Co., Ltd. is established in China.
October 2004 Automotive components division is split to Mitsuboshi Belting Kaseihin Co., Ltd.
September 2006 All stocks of Mitsuboshi Belting Kaseihin Co., Ltd. are handed over to International Automotive Components Group Japan, LLC.
October 2007 Ayabe Production System Development Center starts its operation with the integrated production system from raw materials to finished products.
October 2008 Mitsuboshi Belting Ltd. develops continuously variable transmission belts with features of both resin and rubber.

2010s

December 2010 MITSUBOSHI BELTING-INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED was established in India.
